For more information on this author or work, see number: 1792
Bernard became interested in animal heat very early in his career but did not assemble the results of his experimental work until the early 1870s to use in his course at the Collège de France. Among the many experiments Bernard discusses in this series of twenty-two lectures are those concerning the blood temperature in various parts of the body, the effect of various drugs on body temperature, and the effect of high temperatures on the length of life.
