For more information on this author or work, see number: 1779

In 1860 Flint moved to New York to become professor of the principles and practice of medicine at the Bellevue Medical School and physician at the Bellevue Hospital, where he remained until his death. It was here that he reached his widest audience as a teacher, clinician, and author. Although he continued to write for medical periodicals, this was among the last of Flint's books. An extensive work devoted entirely to clinical medicine, it was intended as a text for medical students and a reference book for practitioners.
