Bonamy, professor of anatomy at L'École Préparatoire de Médecine de Toulouse, prepared Volume I on osteology, syndesmology, and myology as well as Volume II on the heart, arteries, veins, lymphatics, and aponeuroses. Broca (see No. 1912) prepared Volume III on the digestive and endocrine systems and Volume IV on the genitourinary and respiratory systems. The 254 colored plates were engraved by Émile Beau (b. 1810), and each has a facing page containing the descriptive information.
