More than a dozen eponymic terms covering a wide range of human anatomy are attributed to Henle. Nearly all of them were first described in either the Handbuch der systematischen Anatomie des Menschen or in the Allgemeine Anatomie (see No. 1733). Henle's ligament, which lies between the sheaths of the rectus muscle and the transverse abdominal muscle, is described in this volume on the ligaments.
