Nunneley, English physician and physiologist, was a private practitioner in Leeds and was affiliated with the Leeds School of Medicine as a lecturer on anatomy and surgery. He was an accomplished eye surgeon who performed more than 1,000 cataract operations and was one of the first surgeons to achieve continuing success in excising the tongue. This book, first published in 1841, is a comprehensive treatise on the diagnosis and treatment of erysipelas. In this first American edition, additional information on epidemic erysipelas in Indiana and New England was included.
