The second edition of this nineteenth-century classic on experimental neurology has been completely revised and expanded by Flourens to incorporate the results of his experimentation during the eighteen years that had elapsed since the first edition. Flourens remained firm in his conviction that the cerebrum controlled thought and motion, and that the cerebellum was the central organ of equilibration and coordination.
