SIR BENJAMIN COLLINS BRODIE (1783-1862) Clinical lectures on surgery. Lea and Blanchard 1846 [8] viii [17]-352 pp. 22.1 cm.

For more information on this author or work, see number: 1383

Brodie's clinical lectures were extremely popular and well attended. Many of the lectures were published in various periodicals over a period of many years and so were largely unavailable for easy reference. Recognizing this, Lea and Blanchard initially published them on a regular basis in issues of the Medical news. However, the response was so great that the publisher decided to issue them in book form. Thirty-nine of Brodie's lectures on such subjects as mortification, inflammation of the veins, fistulas, hemorrhoids, tic douloureux, and the extraction of foreign bodies are covered.
