Other authors: Hadavas, Constantine T. & Nahas, Selim S. Volume 1 contains the translation of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 7th ages of the Nuremberg Chronicle, including: The First Age of the World from Creation to the Deluge, The Second Age from the Deluge to the Birth of Abraham, The Third Age from the Birth of Abraham to the Kingdom of David, The Seventh Age, reporting the coming of the Antichrist at the end of the world and predicting the Last Judgment. This is an illustrated translation of the Latin edition of the Nuremberg Chronicle (Liber Chronicarum) to English. The Chronicle contains seven ages in total. The 4th and 5th Ages are covered in Volume 2 and the 6th age will be translated in Volume 3. The style of the translation adheres to that in translation theory known as Formal Correspondence. This seeks to keep as close to the original Latin in terms of vocabulary and word order as English will permit. The translation format includes notes depicting the sources that Hartmann Schedel used to compile the Chronicle. Also included is the original facsimile of the translated pages that correspond to the translated ages. Readers will be able to compare the translation with the original layout and text. Translation by Michael Zellmann-Rohrer. This volume includes an introduction by Constantine Hadavas. – Amazon
