Here, in a series of three letters, Bell presents his observations on various types of strictures in the urethra. He differentiates between simple, bridle, dilatable, spasmodic, callous, and ulcerated types of strictures and discusses their diagnosis, etiology, prognosis, and treatment. All six plates were drawn by Bell, and two were also etched by him.
