For more information on this author or work, see number: 1294
Bell's original manuscript with colored drawings of the arteries is now in the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. The manuscript contains twelve vividly colored plates with holographic explanations for each. The drawings were probably made about 1798, and apparently were intended to illustrate Volume II of The anatomy of the human body (see No. 1186), by Charles' older brother, John. Volume I of this work had appeared in 1797.
