This early Mexican materia medica, commissioned by the City of Puebla, describes the location, growth characteristics, appearance, uses, and preparation of a large number of native Mexican plants. The works of twenty-one scientists and botanists are cited including those of Lamarck, Linnaeus, and Sprengel. The text and indices provide the Spanish and Latin name of each plant.
