The present work is a lengthy treatise on the anatomy, causes, and treatment of strictures of the urethra and esophagus. Home advocated the bougie and caustic as chief forms of treatment for these problems. He also presents many case studies to illustrate his methods and treatment modalities. Two of the three plates depict the anatomy of the male bladder and urethra in wax casts and the third shows a stone which had adhered to the wall of the bladder.
