As in other works by Soemmerring on the special sense organs, this treatise contains finely engraved copperplates drawn by Köck. The plates depict the male larynx and the tongue. Each of the two plates is accompanied by an outline plate and text, with the usual concise and accurate descriptions typical of Soemmerring's works.
