Guy de Chauliac's Chirurgie was first written in manuscript form in 1363 and is presented here in a modern French edition by the well-known French surgeon, essayist, and medical historian, Jules Édouard Nicaise. The book was published on the sixth centenary of the University of Montpellier where Guy studied and taught.
