This edition of Guy's surgery was first published at Paris in 1691 by Laurent Verduc (d. 1703) of the noted family of French surgeons. Although the work was originally published under the name of Verduc's father, Laurent (d. 1695), the younger Verduc actually edited the book. Written chiefly in the form of questions and answers, this edition--most likely the sixth--also contains an etymological dictionary of Greek words found in the text.
