Posthumously published by Mascagni’s relatives and prosector, from his manuscripts and sketches. Although one of the greatest anatomists of all time, Mascagni died without completing most of his published works. Mascagni’s anatomy for artists was the first of his posthumous works to appear, with plates by the artist he had trained and worked with for fourteen years on his various projected publications.
