For more information on this author or work, see number: 1098
This massive atlas contains twenty-seven plates and fourteen outline keys of the human lymphatic system which are masterful in their execution and leave little to be improved upon. They were drawn and engraved by the artist Ciro Santi (fl. 1787) of Bologna and form a landmark in anatomical illustration. Mascagni made several notable discoveries concerning the lymphatics, and this work contains his contribution with reference to the diapedesis of the corpuscles through the wall of the blood vessels in areas of inflammation.
