This fourth edition bears Baudelocque's signature of authentication opposite the title page in Volume I. This was common at the time and was done so the book's purchaser would know the book was a genuine copy by the author and not a pirated edition. This set was inscribed to Sophie L'enfant by an unknown friend in the early 1830s. L'enfant was a student midwife at the Maternité.
